I once bought an oil leak for three hundred and fifty dollars. It was dark blue Ford Mustang with a hatchback and a V6 Engine. I could tell this car had some mechanical issues but it was drivable, and for three hundred and fifty bucks I couldn’t go wrong. I was right.

I drove that Ford Mustang for a full year without any major repairs. Don’t get me wrong, me and that Ford had our share of car troubles. For example, there was a continuous, but small oil leak that left a puddle of oil everywhere I parked. My V6 hatchback Mustang marked its territory as if it were a brand new Ford Mustang 5.0. Unfortunately, that small pubble eventually became blue smoke that would follow us everywhere there was traffic, and every drive-thru. It was not only embarrassing, but it was becoming expensive for a quart of oil every three days. I don’t even want to think about the emissions coming from the engine and the exhaust system.

In the end I could not afford to fix the oil leak. In addition, I could not afford to replace the tires, the weak battery, or the brakes that were beginning to squeak. Despite all the issues I had with my car, I can honestly I was sold on Ford Mustangs. After all, I did only pay three hundred and fifty dollars for a car that I put an additional twenty thousand miles on. Add to this the fact that I was able to sell it for two hundred dollars, and it is safe to say that I got the best value for my dollar on that old Mustang.
